New Orleans
– Mississippi river

– Dixieland jazz – the name given to the style that originated here
– Louis `Satchmo` Amstrong was born in New Orleans
– Cajuns – shorter term for members of New Orleans ( French-speaking community), descenated from French-Canadians who came in Louisiana in the 18th century ,beliving they were coming to ”Arcadia” ( = paradise )
– Cajuns cooking uses hot spices and a variety of fish ( from waters of the swampy Bayou)
– Jambalaya – a sticky rice dish with shrimp, sausage and chicken
