Propably most famoust building in New York is the Empire State Building.It is the second highest building in the city after World Trade Center(381m, built 1931).There is New York Public Library in the Beaux Art Style which has about 31million objects, including over 11million books.This collection includes for example Gutenberg Bible and first globe which show America.There is Chrysler Building the seat of Chrysler automobile company.It was created by architect Van Alen in the Art Deco Style.The Chrysler Building has steel spire, which was raised to the top of the tower in one piece.There is Grand Central Terminal designed by Whitney Warren in Beaux Art Style.Not far lies Murray Hill, prestigious residential area which continues on with Park Avenue.There is Headquarters of United Nations along East River.The United Nations Organization was created after World War II and has three buildings designed by Le Corbusied:Secretariat for offices, General Assembly, Conference Building and later library was added.The General Assembly is international parliament made up of delegations of 180 states.There is Time Square, center of performing arts.It is named after the New York Times magazine which moved into the Time Tower.People come to the Time Square to welcome the New Year.The Rockefeller Center is made up of complex of 19 buildings.The main axis is the Rockefeller Plaza,the Lower Plaza(cafe in summer, skating rink in winter) and Channel Gardens.Rockefeller center is designed in the Art Deco Style.Almost opposite Rockefeller center stands St.Patrick´s Cathedral inspirated by gothic cathedrals in Europe(1888).*Beaux Art Style-style of the architects who studied in Paris at the turn of the 20th century and adopted classical elements
