The biggest cities in Britain
The biggest cities in Britain (London, Newcastle upon Tyne, Liverpool, Glasgow) have the underground system. It’s called a tube in London and it is the oldest underground in the world-built in 1863. It operates under the ground.
Docklands light railway-is very similar to the tube that operates on the surface, it connects Docklands with the city. There are no drivers, the train is operated by a computer. They are very clean, fast, safe, and efficient.
In England you may find many canals (man-made) and channels (natural). In the past were used for transport. Nowadays they are mainly used for quite holidays + vacation. You may find there special boats on which you may live – barges.
Another mode of transport is traveling by bike.
It’s easy to hire it the best map designed for hiking is Ordnance Survey Map, you have to watch for animals (sheep). If you hike or travel by bike-you use routes-controlled (take care) by National Trust – charity organization founded in 1890’s and it’s nowadays the largest land owner in Great Britain. It takes care of natural monuments + historic sites. Many people decide in their last will that they will give their property to the National Trust (it’s certain it will remain untouched)
